This glossary is for newcomers in the familiar fashion language. I created it as a reminder tool for specific words and their definition. Hope it'll help!
avant-garde
adjective
The use of the term avant-garde is slightly misleading, though. Translated literally, avant-garde means “ahead of the guard”; but, in the context of the arts, it doesn’t imply being ahead of trends. In fact, to be considered avant-garde is to exist outside of the established norms and confines of a discipline. Avant-garde designers are not ahead of trends—they’re immune to them.
Example: Martin Margiela is an avant-garde designer.

A fashion item that has no resell value.

noun
influence or power

In ''never worn'' condition.

distributor
noun
An agent who supplies goods to stores and other businesses that sell to consumers.
Example: The marketer distributor is International Marriage Agencies.

noun
If you have the drip, it means you have style, your outfit looks good.

noun
A drop is a limited release of merchandise, often as a marketing technique by streetwear fashion brands.
Example: Stussy's drop is scheduled next Friday.

Sell (something one has bought) to someone else for a profit.
Example: I think I'm going to flip this pair of shoes.

Fugazi is a slang word which refers to something that is fake.
Example: This store is selling fugazi clothes.

Garment
noun
An item of clothing.
Example: In addition to her historical Mini Skirt, she is also credited for creating coloured, patterned tights, which is a leg covering garment which extends from the waist all the way to the feet and was supposed to be tight to the skin.

A thing that is being earnestly pursued or sought after.
Example: CCP tornado zip boots are my absolute grail.

hikercore
noun
A way of dressing that emphases utilitarian garments that impart comfort, water proofing and wind proofing, such as those one would wear on a long walk.
Example: Those new Salomon shoes are definitely the best for a hikercore style

Generally refers to a person who is devoted to acquiring trendy fashionable items, especially clothing and shoes.
Example: Nathan is such a hypebeast. he's wearing Yeezys with a Off-White hoodie.

noun
A plug (or the plug) is a person who has the ability to get or supply hard-to-find fashion items.

Casual clothing of a style worn especially by members of various urban youth subcultures.
Example: Alexis went for a streetwear style today.

It's the abbreviated, stylized word for technical wear. It's urban apparel that uses high-quality fabrics, and technical detailing to create a product that can stand up to the elements.
Example: Arc'teryx is know to be a notorious techwear brand.
